English

This blog is written intentionally NOT in English, but in my native language: Portuguese.

I decided this because Portuguese is the 5th most spoken language in the world (after Hindi, Chinese, English and Spanish) and there is far too much content in English anyway. Portuguese is a beautiful language, derived from Latin and sharing many aspects with Castellano (Spanish).

Countries that speak Portuguese: Portugal (obviously!), Brazil, Angola, Moçambique, Cabo Verde, Guiné Bissau, São Tomé e Principe and Timor Leste. Besides these, several trading cities were under Portuguese control until the 20th century: in India, Goa Damão e Diu. In China, Macau, in which Portugal left a long lasting heritage and which transition to Chinese rule was smooth (contrary to what happened in Hong-Kong, across the bay).

If you’re interested in any content in this site you can either use an automated translation service, like Google’s or Altavista’s language services. Otherwise, you can send me an email to acacio(at)acacio.com.

Thank you, Acácio
